Jamie is the co-host and producer for Rogan’s podcast. He is often referred to as Jamie.
Rogan sent to Instagram for breaking the news.
Young @jamievernon was positive for COVID-19 and all podcasts have been cancelled. The rest of the staff and I both tested negative. We’re closing down all podcasts until our doctor gives us the all clear. Jamie was away last week, and all the shows had been recorded before airing. I haven’t spoken to Jamie in 9 days, except today. I’m keeping my distance from everyone and getting tested each day until I feel 100%. I will keep you guys updated on when the show will resume.”
It sounds like the precautions have been taken, which is a good thing. It is ironic that Rogan has spent so much time in recent months downplaying dangers of the coronavirus and even mocking mask-wearing people.
This ignorance led to one the most memorable moments on the podcast. Bill Burr, the co-creator Netflix’s Family, challenged Rogan for his ignorance .
“I don’t want to sit here without a medical degree, listening you with no medicine degree, holding an American flag behind your back, smoking a cigar and acting like we know more than the CDC. I only watch the news every other week. I don’t care if it’s mask or not. Still mask? Alright, masks.’ This is all I care about.
Burr is able to give a good scolding while still being funny and lighthearted. Rogan’s recent Instagram photo shows that he should be protected from the virus if he is cautious. The long-running podcast should also return soon.
