The attack on Paul Pelosi:
David ran to the speaker’s home shouting “Where is Nancy?” Nancy was in Washington DC at the time of the attack. Nancy is currently at Berkeley so her security is high. She was not at Berkeley Friday, so her home was less secure.
David shouted at Paul, and Paul moved towards the house’s entrance. David pulled out a knife to begin attacking Paul. Within minutes, security guards arrived at the house to rescue David. They took David into custody and disarmed him.

David Wayne DePape, a Berkeley resident, was 42 years old when he attacked Paul Pelosi. When police arrested him, it was already too late. Paul suffered severe injuries from the attack. David’s uncle was stunned by the news and was left speechless. Although he hoped the scam would be over, he didn’t expect to see anything similar.
Gene DePape was David Depape’s stepfather. He married after he turned 20 and moved to California.
Joanne Robinson, David’s twin, lives in New Zealand. She expressed her deepest sympathy.
David was separated from his family many years ago, according to his relatives. They confirmed that he owned the Facebook account blocked by police.
