Posobiec’s connections to far-right extremists extend beyond borders into Europe. Hatewatch has a series of stories about Posobiec’s connections to white supremacy. It is impossible to list all of his connections to this movement. The first story in the series explains how Posobiec went from being a Game of Thrones blogger to becoming a link with white supremacists Richard Spencer and a neo Nazi who endorsed terrorism using the online handle @PureWhiteEvil.
Posobiec (34), described himself on Twitter as “fmr CBS News” during the chapters of his life that are detailed in this article. CBS News informed Hatewatch that he had never worked for them. From September 2016 to March 2017, Posobiec was a Twitter user whose name was “fmr CBS News.” He gained over 9,000 followers each month, and promoted disinformation campaigns like “Pizzagate.”
Posobiec used Twitter as a tool to hate Jewish journalists. Wolf Blitzer from CNN, who is from a Polish family that survived the Holocaust and World War II, was one of his targets. Posobiec also targeted journalists covering a Peter Thiel-hosted press conference. After Hatewatch reached for comment, three Jewish rights groups – the Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Center – called Posobiec’s behavior antisemitic. Here you can find the full statements of these groups and additional evidence regarding Posobiec’s antisemitic remarks.
Posobiec was praised by President Donald Trump in a tweet on May 2: “That’s right Jack. Trump said, “Keep up the good work!” He was referring to OANN anchor Jack who boasted on Twitter that he reads his Twitter feed. This was not Trump’s first promotion of Posobiec to his millions followers. He did the same thing on August. 14th of August 2017, just days after the tragic “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville. Posobiec made a comment on violent crime often associated with Black suspects in the tweet he boosted. He compared it to a white supremacist killing an antiracist protestor at the Charlottesville rally. Trump posted a self-promotional tweet on May 16 showing him being surrounded and accompanied by his friends while he delivers a speech from “Independence Day.” Posobiec’s visage was also included in the video.
