We found a YouTube advertisement about Magnus Kristof’s fuel saving invention. According to the Ad Magnus Kristof is a Norwegian teenager who created a plug-in which can save 20% on fuel. We were curious so we decided to give it another shot.
Testing:
Shopovia.co sent it to us as a gas saver. We were given instructions saying that the plug should be plugged into our car’s socket. It sounded bizarre. We were curious to see the final results. Once we connected the device, the blue light began appearing immediately.
It was tested in a 2008 Prius. It got 6 mpg even though we drove 150 miles.
It didn’t work for us. It didn’t reduce fuel consumption. It continued flashing like a night-policeman.
Magnus Kristof FuelSaver, What We Think About This Innovation
It’s simply junk that has been recycled many, many times. Anything that is plugged into an outlet for a cigarette lighter will only draw electricity. Batteries do not contain real capacitors. They temporarily provide power to the battery when the battery isn’t charging. You cannot install any capacitor anywhere other than the Car’s Computer Control module.

Fuel savers can only be described in fairy tales or advertisements. Although they look the same, we have seen similar products that don’t work.
A second problem is that the unit does NOT have an OBD link. Only the flasher’s power supply is connected. Redesigning your car is necessary to achieve these claims. Cars use fuel differently depending on their vehicle weight, size, rolling resistance, friction in the moving parts and tire size. These are the fundamental elements that cannot be altered by plug-and play.
These inconsistencies can be noticed when you visit a website that offers gas saver.
- You will need to check the box to confirm you have read the policy. The store policy will not be displayed if you try to view it.
- The Website is unable to determine whether Percy Belsen was the inventor or Magnus Kristof.
Energy.GOV provides a variety of fuel-saving strategies. These include combinating trips, reducing car weight, keeping your car clean, and how not to drive aggressively.
