Education and early life
It may sound odd for a rapper like Yung Gravy, but it’s true. In 2017, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, where he studied Marketing. Gravy wasn’t initially interested in becoming a rapper. He started rapping at college for fun. His friends would invite him to perform at University events and parties. Gravy developed his own style over time, drawing inspiration from the oldies and soul movements of the 1950s and 1960s. He also incorporated modern rap. Career
Gravy started his career as a startup accelerator and then began recording songs in his spare time. Gravy decided to quit his job quickly and pursue his music career. He didn’t reveal his identity until 2016, when he realized this was his calling. In 2016, his first song, “Karen”, was published on SoundCloud. It seemed that the audience fell in love with it. He was able to keep writing his songs and felt confident.
