Motex Energy Saver
This product has been described in many ways. The following words are used to describe the product: ‘Contraption’ Motex Energy Saver, Motex Power Saver & ‘Get Motex. The big question is, does it perform the job it claims to?
During our inspection, we found inconsistencies with the product. Here are some reasons to not buy this power-saving device.
Bogus Claim
Advertisement for Getmotex.com claiming that the product is scientifically based. This’science’ is not just empty nonsense. Even the image of founders of the company in Berlin at an Expo Berlin is a generic commercial photograph that can be downloaded from Shutterstock, istockphoto.
This device has been used numerous times. These devices can also be called Voltex or Voltbox. They’re all one in fact. They don’t work. Many people have complained that the devices do not reduce their electricity bills, or conserve energy.

You’re not equipped to conserve any energy
When you open the box, you will find a capacitor on the power cord. While this may provide some power factor correction, it will not charge you for reactive power at home. This will not save you money.
The device is useless even though it has *just enough* potential to impact the advertisements.
Electrocutions pose a danger
Similar to other power-saving devices, the Motex’s capabular is not meant for use with an AC line. It can be dangerous to your home and family if lightning strikes occur nearby. A safety rating is given for capacitors that are connected to AC lines.
Negative Reviews
Many reviews are fake and provide no concrete information about products. TrustPilot has genuine Motex customer reviews. Our first Motex review can be found here. These reviews demonstrate that Motex’s energy saver does not reduce your electricity bill.
Electric Consumption cannot be decreased
A device that is so small can’t stabilize an AC supply will not make the claimed savings. The total electrical consumption of a device will be calculated based on its power consumption, not the phase corrected VAR.
The majority of power used by homes is for heating and cooling. It is hard to imagine a 110-120% AC outlet being connected to a device that could reduce electrical consumption through phase correction techniques. This is because 120 VAC provides 240VAC power.
Is Motex a Scam, or Legitimate?
It is. BBC has spoken out about the power-saving device scam.
Motex and other energy-saving gadgets can cause electrocution and fire and could be dangerous.
